Czas smutku nadszedł. Lato - najgorsza pora roku. Wszyscy się bawią, śmieją, jest gorąco i duszno. Masakra... Szłam przez łąkę bez żadnego cienia. Czasem podnosiłam niemrawo głowę, by rozejrzeć się w poszukiwaniu drzewa. Nic... Mijałam kolejne wilki biegające po trawie z radością. Są zdecydowanie zabawni. Że im się chce? Dziwne. Śmiałam się z nich w duchu, a czasem uśmiechałam lekko kącikiem ust.

Zaznałam wreszcie spokoju. Dotarłam w okolice, w których było mało zwierząt mego gatunku. To dobrze. Znalazłam sobie miejsce obok sadzawki. Położyłam się tuż pod pniem rośliny i zaczęłam nasłuchiwać. Czego? Szumu wiatru. Przymknęłam swe oczy nucąc piosenkę:
